Feng Shui and The Color Red – Can red painted walls be harmful from a Feng Shui perspective?

Yes, red painted walls are not the right choice – EVER!

Feng Shui is the amazing Chinese art and science how to determine the energy patterns of a home (or business).

A complete Feng Shui Consultation will tell every aspect of a home, and what most likely will happen to the people living in it.  Depending on the exact 15 degree LoPan compass reading the homes individual floor plan is divided into eight magnetic Chi fields; four good ones and four not so good ones.

The living room of this Dallas home was not located in a positive magnetic chi field.  Furthermore the room was painted in a red tone ( the favorite color of the owners ) which was not a good color choice,  and it was determined that a high risk of possible accidents in this area exists.  In order to avoid accidents we had to introduce the Metal element – yet still, the room had to be repainted.

The owners chose to ignore these facts since they almost never used this space to sit in……

Until: A brick from the adjacent construction site crashed flying through the living room window destroying some furniture, and almost hurt the owner who was sitting beneath the window .  (The left picture was taken after the accident occurred).  Still not willing to repaint, the owners chose the path of introducing the Water element (or the colors blue and black).  (Please note: Water distinguishes Fire)  Mainly dark blue furniture and blue curtains were introduced, black and blue representing the element of Water,  to off-set the reddish wall color  (as seen in the picture to the right).  As this was not the 100% perfect route / Feng Shui cure to take - so far no more accidents have happened.  The main effort within the living area was to neutralize the Fire element.  An over-sized painting also was placed on the wall to reduce the amount of red surface.  The metal plaque as well as a stainless steal staircase (not seen in picture) represent the needed element of Metal to reduce the risks of accidents. The better choice for a wall color still would have been within the range of white tones.  This  example only represents one of many how Feng Shui can not only determine the positive effects of the energies – yet also the negative ones which have to be reduced first.   If you have any questions please send us an email to: MoreInfo@FengShuiAtWork.com
